Many club members and the Fernie Nordic Racers in particular are very involved in ski racing throughout the season. The Community Fun Race is a local race in Fernie and many other clubs in the Kootenays also have racing events. The Teck Kootenay Cup series is well attended by the various racing teams of the region. The participants from the Fernie Nordic Society are the winners of the Cup for the last two seasons.
