Trail Conditions – Dec 6, 2024

Contrary to our Sunday post, the Galloway Loop of the Nordic Centre is not ready for skiers yet. Much dirt is showing in several areas. Some new snow is needed to cover the construction rough spots.

Elk Valley Nordic Centre

No dogs, snowshoes, biking or walkers on the trails please.

The trails were groomed on Thursday morning. The new 1.5 km Evergreen trail above the Runt is now open and groomed.
More fresh snow is required before the Galloway Loop is skiable. Sorry for the delay.

Access to the Nordic Centre from FAR will be through Boomerang Way since the usual path from Highline Drive is still closed due to construction work.

Fernie Golf Course

The trails are being groomed and trackset on Friday morning. Grooming is done daily every morning. Enjoy the views!
Level of difficulty: Easy green easy

No dogs, snowshoes or walkers on the golf course please.

Fernie Alpine Resort

The Silk, Manchuria, Scandia and Timber Landing trails were groomed on Tuesday morning.

Off-leash dogs are now allowed on the trails if they are still under ‘vocal control’. A map and directions to trails are found here

Fernie Dyke and City Trails

The backcountry area north of the golf course and the dyke to the boat launch are being groomed on Friday morning. The dyke is groomed regularly.

It is a multi-use trail for walking, snowshoeing, snow biking and skiing with your dog. Grooming of the dyke to the north bridge will start at the same time as the grooming on the golf course. Additionally the dyke from the north bridge to the boat launch will be groomed and trackset after a sufficient new snow fall.

Montane

The nordic trails were groomed on Wednesday. Regular grooming continues. Access to the trails is from the trailhead.
